About Dr. Asikaiwe

Chima Asikaiwe, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist with subspecialty training in geriatric psychiatry at Greathope Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services. He provides all his patients in Garland, Texas, with holistic and whole-person care.

Dr. Asikaiwe has over 15 years of experience caring for patients with psychiatric and psychological disorders. He helps patients manage depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, bipolar, mood, sleep, and other psychiatric conditions.

Dr. Asikaiwe also treats children with psychiatric disorders, including ADHD, depression, anxiety, and autism. Psychotherapy treatment is available when necessary.

At the initial visit, his clients are greeted with a warm welcome, thus initiating the process for the patient and provider to establish rapport and understanding gradually. Dr. Asikaiwe works with a team of therapists, counselors, and psychologists to provide comprehensive care.

When Dr. Asikaiwe’s patients are healthy and stable, patients and their families are happy. He aims to keep patients healthy, stable, functional, and productive. He works closely with the patient's family to provide support and education to understand the condition and participate in the care and support for their loved one.

Greathope Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services are open Monday through Friday 9 am - 4:30 pm and Saturdays 9 am - 1 pm. Located in a quiet, private office setting with handicap accessible parking, Dr. Asikaiwe’s patients’ comfort and privacy are the highest priority.
